Indian actress Bhanurekha Ganesan, born on October 10, 1954, is well recognized for her roles in Hindi cinema as the stage name Rekha. One of the best actresses in Indian cinema history, she has acted in over 180 films and won multiple awards, including three Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.
Early Life of Rekha:
Throughout her life, Pushpavalli, Rekha’s mother, made news more for her personal life than her cinematic endeavors. She married in 1940, but the marriage failed after only six years, and she and her husband began living apart.
Before making their Bollywood debuts, Hema Malini, Rekha, Vyjayanthimala, Jaya Prada, and Sridevi were all employed in South Indian cinema. Rekha is one of the rare actresses, whose mother was also an actress, who fell in love with a popular South Asian actor who had two marriages and chose not to marry him in order to raise his two kids instead.
Pushpavalli, Rekha’s mother, appeared in Telugu and Tamil motion pictures. Her portrayal of Sita in “Sampoorna Ramayanam” brought her fame. She was paid Rs 300 to play the character of Sita in a 1936 motion picture.
Her most successful film was the 1942 Telugu picture “Bala Nagamma,” in which she had a significant supporting part. She played the lead in the 1947 picture “Miss Malini,” which was critically acclaimed but a box money bomb.

Pushpavalli’s life took a new turn when she was chosen to play the lead in the movie “Miss Malini” alongside newcomer Gemini Ganesan. Despite the fact that Gemini Ganesan and Rekha’s mother were both married to other people, they fell in love and started dating.
Rekha’s mother was Gemini Ganesan’s girlfriend for her entire life, although he never granted Pushpavalli the status of wife. Ganesan and Pushpavalli had two daughters. Rekha, an actress from Bollywood, is the older of them; Radha, who worked in Tamil cinema before getting married and relocating to the US, is the younger.
In 1991, Pushpavalli, Rekha’s mother, passed away. Rekha rose to prominence in the film industry despite playing supporting parts in the majority of her movies and appearing in main roles in just few of them.

Rekha’s alleged relationship with Amitabh Bachchan is among the most well known secrets. Rekha’s name wasn’t first connected to him as an actor. At initially, Rekha’s name was connected to Jeetendra, who was already married at the time. Their alleged romance didn’t last very long. At that time, there were rumors that Rekha and Kiran Kumar were married. Although their marriage is rumored to have occurred, there is little doubt that their love developed. Rekha once said in an interview with a magazine that Kiran Kumar was a “mama’s boy,” overly submissive to his mother, which bothered her.

In an interview with Simi Grewal, Rekha denied the rumour that she was married to Vinod Mehra. Later, in 1990, Rekha wed businessman Mukesh Aggarwal of Delhi.
Yasser Usman’s book Rekha: The Untold Story claims that Rekha was unaware of Mukesh’s severe mental health before they were married. Rekha made the decision to keep her distance from Mukesh because of this. Mukesh committed suicide one day while they were apart, a moment that would never come back to Rekha. At the time, when she was being made fun of by the media, one journalist called it “the deepest trough in her life.”
