Indian actress Bhanurekha Ganesan, born on October 10, 1954, is well recognized for her roles in Hindi cinema as the stage name Rekha. One of the best actresses in Indian cinema history, she has acted in over 180 films and won multiple awards, including three Filmfare Awards and a National Film Award.

Early Life of Rekha:

Throughout her life, Pushpavalli, Rekha’s mother, made news more for her personal life than her cinematic endeavors. She married in 1940, but the marriage failed after only six years, and she and her husband began living apart.

Before making their Bollywood debuts, Hema Malini, Rekha, Vyjayanthimala, Jaya Prada, and Sridevi were all employed in South Indian cinema. Rekha is one of the rare actresses, whose mother was also an actress, who fell in love with a popular South Asian actor who had two marriages and chose not to marry him in order to raise his two kids instead.

Yasser Usman’s book Rekha: The Untold Story claims that Rekha was unaware of Mukesh’s severe mental health before they were married. Rekha made the decision to keep her distance from Mukesh because of this. Mukesh committed suicide one day while they were apart, a moment that would never come back to Rekha. At the time, when she was being made fun of by the media, one journalist called it “the deepest trough in her life.”
