Jacqueline Fernandez has been the focus of a probe into a ₹200 crore money laundering case since December 2021. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is conducting the inquiry, questioned Fernandez about the case for ten hours on December 9, 2021. Fernandez’s appeal to lower the Lookout Circular (LOC) that was issued against her in the case that prevents her from traveling outside of India was denied by the ED on December 22. Fernandez was taken out of Nagarjuna’s movie The Ghost. The eviction from the movie is thought to have been brought on by the money laundering case.
In the same money-laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrashekhar, Jacqueline Fernandez was identified as an accused by The Enforcement Directorate on August 17, 2022. She responded by saying that FDs were made before she had any connection to the con artist, that all of her money was legitimate, and that she had paid taxes on it.
On September 26, 2022, Jacqueline’s attorney requested and the court granted her temporary release on a ₹50,000 bond.
