The executive chairman and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports James Dolan :
James Dolan, the executive chairman and CEO of Madison Square Garden Sports, is accused by a woman of sexually abusing and trafficking her in late 2013 and early 2014. The woman filed the federal lawsuit against Dolan on Tuesday.
Ben Sisario of the New York Times reports that the lawsuit claims Dolan repeatedly coerced Kellye Croft, then 27 years old, into having unwelcome intercourse after hiring her as a massage therapist for an Eagles concert tour.
Leading executive of the NHL’s New York Rangers and NBA’s New York Knicks, Dolan is also a blues vocalist with the band JD & The Straight Shot, which opened the tour.
The article states that the lawsuit claims Dolan initially coerced Croft into having sex with him in spite of her refusals, at a massage appointment. The tour went on and on, and “she felt obligated to submit to sex with him.”
James Dolan Legacy:
Dolan’s Business Legacy was from his father Charles Dolan. in the early days, James Dolan disagreed with his father’s idea for a satellite service called Voom, which caused a rift among the Cablevision board of directors.
James Dolan contended that it was excessively costly and that there would be no future cost reduction. Ultimately, the younger Dolan won, and Voom was closed down.
Throughout his financial career, he has made numerous mistakes. Among them were the acquisition of the failing Wiz electronics and entertainment chain, which lost $250 million before going out of business, and the Clearview Cinemas chain, which did not turn a profit.
Kellye Croft’s allegation on Harvey Weinstein:
Furthermore, Croft claimed that Harvey Weinstein, a former Hollywood film producer who is presently serving sentences of 23 and 16 years in jail after being found guilty of rape and sexual assault against many women, had sexually assaulted her.
In her lawsuit, Croft claims that Dolan arranged for her and Weinstein to meet in January 2014. According to the lawsuit, Weinstein expressed interest in hiring her to give stars massages on film sets.
It is said that Weinstein followed Croft into a hotel room and attacked her sexually. Accusing Dolan of putting her up, Croft says, “James Dolan manipulated me, brought me to California to abuse me and then set me up for a vicious attack by Weinstein.”
Croft claimed that as soon as the alleged Weinstein attack occurred, she informed Dolan about it. Years later, Dolan said that even though he was friends with Weinstein, he was unaware of his wrongdoings.
E. Danya Perry, Dolan’s attorney, issued a statement refuting claims that Dolan either sexually molested Croft or arranged for Weinstein to attack her:
“All of the accusations made against Mr. Dolan are completely without substance. James Dolan and Kellye Croft were pals. Mr. Dolan is shocked that Ms. Croft would accede to these allegations because he has always thought of her as a kind person. In summary, this is not a case of he said/she said, and our position is well supported by the available data. We’re eager to demonstrate that in court.”
In an additional statement, Weinstein’s attorney Jennifer Bonjean said that the star “vehemently denies these meritless allegations and looks forward to litigating these claims in a court of law where the truth will be revealed.”
Kelly Croft emphasizes to confront workplace harassment:
Kelly Croft, a former employee of a media company, has accused James Dolan, the CEO, of sexual assault. Croft claims that while on a work trip, Dolan made aggressive approaches that left her traumatized. Numerous people have expressed their displeasure over the case and demanded justice and accountability.
Dolan says the meeting was consensual and refutes the accusations. Both parties are presenting their case and supporting documentation during the ongoing legal proceedings. The case emphasizes how critical it is to confront workplace harassment and the interplay of power. It also emphasizes the difficulties victims encounter when they speak out against influential people. As the case develops, discussions regarding company culture, accountability, and the requirement for practical steps to stop such incidents in the future are prompted.
